Project Description – Atlas Cleaners was a locally owned and operated dry cleaner. In an effort to provide additional convenience for their customers, Atlas launched a concierge App allowing customers to arrange for digital on-demand pickup and delivery. The owner was also running the day-to-day business and required help marketing the launch of the new App. His goal was to secure media placements in order to drive awareness of the new service offering.

Solution – Porch Light was hired to create and implement a local media relations strategy surrounding the launch of the Atlas App. Porch Light worked closely with the owner of the dry cleaner to craft messaging and story ideas that would resonate in the local market. The result was pitches that weren’t just about a new App, but a broader focus of “Uber for Everything” in the local market. The stories were able to portray the message that viewers/readers could utilize a digital on-demand scheduling app while also having the peace of mind of knowing the service provider was locally-owned and operated.

Result – Porch Light’s media relations plan successfully secured multiple placements for Atlas Cleaners and the launch of their App. A feature of the owner-operator ran in the Indianapolis Star and stories aired on RTV6 TheIndyChannel, Daybreak 8 (WISH-TV) andFox 59 Morning News “Stretching Your Dollar” segment (Fox59).

Project Description

OmniSource Marketing is the largest Indiana-based promotional marketing agency and is one of the largest Women Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) in the industry. The company has grown immensely under the direction of owner Janie Goldberg who was named a 2015 WBE Star, the nation’s premier award for excellence among WBE’s. OmniSource Marketing hired Porch Light to publicize this national award and garner media coverage that could be added to the “news” section of their revamped website.


Porch Light was hired to create and implement a local media relations strategy surrounding Goldberg’s national award.  Porch Light worked closely with Goldberg and her Chief Creative Officer to figure out what was intriguing about Goldberg and her company and what makes their story unique and interesting. Porch Light used this information to create multiple pitches that were communicated to various journalists in the Indianapolis market. Porch Light also assisted in media training Goldberg as well as drafting and distributing a press release announcing Goldberg’s recognition.


Porch Light’s media relations plan successfully secured multiple placements for OmniSource Marketing within a 6-week time period. Goldberg was profiled by the Indianapolis Star, WXIN (Fox 59) and BoomerTV (WISH-TV). Her recognition was also announced by Inside INdiana Business in their weekly newsletter “Big Wigs and New Gigs,” as well as by the Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ).
